Where do you live?

The city of Ghent is where I call my home, more specifically the hip urban area of Ledebronx (or Ledeberg for the outsiders).

What’s the difference between your previous job and now?

As a former IP/IT consultant at a startup legal consultancy. The core of my work was still legal whereby the margin of creativity was confined to rigid concepts. At Brandhome, creativity has no boundaries! Well … As long as the client buys it.

If you were born in history, in which era would it be and why?

The Roman society with its richness of rethorics, civilization and above all efficiency. It had it all, intrigue, adventure and culture.

Describe an odd habit of yours.

Fortunately for my significant other, I tend to clean up the table as soon as we finished eating. Unfortunately for her, this leaves no room for proper after dinner talk. Or dessert.

What do you still want to accomplish in life?

Goals in life change. I used to be idealistic, now more materialistic. In the long term, I wish to leave a lasting memory by giving the world something or someone significant added value. In the short term, I would like to write a book on something I’m passionate about.

How would your ideal day at work look like?

Driving to Antwerp with no traffic, receiving a compliment by a happy client when reading my first email of the day to then finish a long-term project we’ve been working on. Then celebrate it by a nice team lunch to finally end the day with a brainstorm session on future projects. Sounds pretty good.

What was the latest gift you gave someone?

In our digital era we have never taken so many photos and yet we only see them online. I wanted to recreate memories with my girlfriend in a tangible manner. Thus I gave her a printed photo album of all our  (mostly ugly) selfies. “Best. Gift. Ever.” Her words, not mine. I swear.

How would you describe Brandhome in three words?

Innovative. Long term-minded. Practical.

If you would be an animal for one day, what would it be?

An ant. Highly efficient, cooperative and very versatile. So small, but yet so much to learn about how large societies work. In the end, aren’t we all tiny ants in the universe?

What are your hobbies? What do you do in your spare time?

Bouldering (wall-climbing) and occasionally golf. One gives me strength while the other gives me peace of mind. They both push you to do better next time by aiming to climb that difficult pathway or by keep on fighting the mental game.
