Who’s that girl?
10 questions to Laura
What did you study and how was your student life?
I have a Bachelor’s degree in Graphic design from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, and a Masters degree in Communication sciences from the University of Antwerp. I worked hard during my years as a student, but of course, every once in a while I blew of some steam and had my own share of crazy parties. So it’s safe to say that I had the typical student career.
What makes you a real Brandhomie?
I don’t care what people think about me, and I have a straight-forward attitude, just like our Brandgnomie, the office mascot.
Laura, describe your creative way of working in three words?
Think. Work. Learn.
What’s your greatest passion?
Painting, but lately it’s hard to find the time to practice it. It is still one of my life goals to become a more avid painter someday.
If you were born some time in history, in which era would it be and why?
The sixties, I would be sitting, lying, (never standing), somewhere in the crowd at a Woodstock festival, singing along with Jefferson Airplane!
Describe a silly/ odd/ strange habit of you.
I really don’t like cake, or pies. I’m not really into anything sweet.
If you would be a phantasy figure, which one would it be (except a gnome who says fuck you all the time)?
As a phantasy figure, I would totally be a wizard. Maybe Gandalf the grey. Or Harry Potter, then I could teleport (yes, I would have a spell for that) myself to any place around the world.
If you would be an animal for one day, what would it be?
Definitely a cat, so I can be petted all day long, lay in the sun, catch a mouseevery now and then. In short, have an awesome cat-day!
Why did you choose to become a creative designer? (and why not a nurse?)
First of all, I wasn’t good at biology. But actually it was my father who encouraged me to become a designer. He works in the creative industry as well and he loved the thought of working together with his daughter one day.
What is your ultimate Fri-Yay dress up theme?
I’m still waiting for the pyjama/onesies Fri-yay to happen! But secretly I would always like to wear my pyjama around the office if I could. Yes, I love pyjama’s and comfy clothes. That’s maybe not really ‘designish’ or creative of me, but it’s too comfortable!
