What did you do at your previous job?

Before Brandhome, I worked at Coolblue HQ Rotterdam as a designer.
I made sure that everything was well designed according to the brand guidelines, and tried to make our main message ‘Everything for a smile’ true for all of our costumers. This went from internal branding to flyers, posters, tv spots, to campaigns for Samsung or Intel etc,…

What’s the difference between your previous job and your current position?

If I say something in Flemish now, people understand what I’m saying. Finally! Sad part of that story; I can’t make up any more Flemish words now.

Describe your creative way of working in three words?

Start-from-nothing. Get a nice white sheet of paper and start sketching. Don’t get inspired yet, look at the brand or product with an open mind, and keep your findings in mind with every step you take.

Describe your life in three words?

Make-it-pretty.

If you were a superhero, which one would you be and why?

Did you ever hear about that superhero Squirrel Girl? No? That’s why.

How would you describe Brandhome in three words?

Orange.
Focussed.
Balls.

Is there a nice fact we need to know about you?

When I was a little Anketje, I collected Kipling monkeys. At one moment I had more than 1500 pieces. At the start of this year, I sold my collection back to Kipling, for the museum they were building. How cool is that?

If you would be an animal for one day, what would it be?

A chinchilla. It’s like the combination of a rabbit, a squirrel, a guinea pig, and a mouse. By far the fluffiest thing ever!

Why did you choose to be a creative designer? (and why not being a nurse?)

I’ve always liked drawing, designing, painting,… But I didn’t want to be an artist. I wanted to make pretty things, but not for hanging on a wall somewhere. I wanted to make something that is for and around people. Every day. Everywhere. And I found all of this in advertising.

What is your ultimate Fri-Yay dress up team?

Disney gone wrong.
